Having travelled to Bali from San Francisco, our client came to us looking to create a warm homely space for her family while they spent a year on the island attending the Green School.
The expansive beachfront villa in Berawa bore the full force of the salty humid winds so finishes had to be durable and easy to clean. The original interior however was clinical in texture, austere in materials and furnishings, and stark in colour.
With budget in mind we retained some of the original furniture, altering finishes on some of these pieces and adding SOUQ original furniture and locally-sourced accents and artwork.
Adding to the challenge of transforming the space was the deadline (with only a year to enjoy the villa, it had to be completed in breakneck time) and the fact that all structural renovations and improvements may have to be reversed at the end of the year to restore the villa to the owner’s original design.
