The Tiing Resort stands as a monument to tropical brutalism against the lazy lapping shores of far north east Bali in the clavicle of the island’s mighty Mt Batur.
Designed by Australian architect Nic Brunsdon the project was shortlisted for the World Architecture Festival awards in December 2019 for which Fabric Quarterly ran a feature in their third edition of 2019. SOUQ was asked to ‘dress’ the building with furniture and homewares and style it for the photoshoot that would run in FQ.
The intention with the SOUQ pieces selected was to reflect both the strength and modernism of the building without fighting its sleepy island vibes.
